Creating Your Deal

Your Deal is how investors discover you on PersoniFi. It tells your story, showcases your opportunity, and makes the case for why someone should back you.

Setup takes about 10-15 minutes. Here's how to prepare and make the most of it.

Before You Start

Have these ready to save time:

ItemWhy It Matters
A clear photo of yourselfInvestors back people. A professional, friendly photo builds trust. (up to 5MB)
A short video intro60-90 seconds explaining who you are and what you're building. This is optional but significantly increases engagement. (up to 150MB)
Your pitch deckA link to a Google Slides, Notion, or PDF that outlines your opportunity.
Your storyBe ready to describe your background, what makes you unique, and what you've accomplished.

Don't have everything ready? You can still complete setup—the app will guide you through creating these elements. But having them prepared makes the process faster and your page stronger.

Choosing Your Path

When you sign up, you'll select who you are:

PathBest For
AthleteProfessional or competitive athletes seeking funding for training, career development, or ventures
FounderStartup founders raising early-stage capital
CreatorContent creators, artists, musicians building a business around their work
Fund ManagerInvestment professionals raising or deploying capital
Custom PathIf none of the above fit exactly

Your path determines how your Funding Page is structured and which investors see your opportunity.

Building a Deal That Stands Out

Your Deal has several sections. Here's how to approach each one:

Pitch Yourself

This is your personal story—where you come from, what drives you, and why you're the right person for this opportunity.

What works:

  • Specific accomplishments ("Built a 50K following in 6 months" not "I'm good at social media")
  • Authenticity over polish—investors want to know the real you
  • Connecting your past to your future

What doesn't:

  • Vague descriptions ("I'm passionate about success")
  • Listing skills without context
  • Being overly modest—this is the time to highlight your strengths

Your Uniqueness

What makes you different? This section helps investors understand your edge.

Think about:

  • What are you genuinely world-class at?
  • What have you overcome that shaped who you are?
  • What do people always come to you for?

Your Venture/Opportunity

Explain what you're building and why it matters. Be specific about:

  • The problem you're solving
  • Who it's for
  • What traction or progress you've made
  • What funding will unlock

Your Investment Opportunity

This is where you connect the dots: how does an investor's capital lead to your growth?

Be specific. Instead of "funding will help me grow," try: "This funding covers 6 months of full-time development, letting me launch the beta and acquire my first 1,000 users."

Title & Visuals

Your title and photo are the first things investors see when browsing.

Title tips:

  • Lead with your identity + what you're building
  • Keep it under 70 characters
  • Examples: "D1 Swimmer Building Mental Health App for Athletes" or "Former Google PM Launching AI Recruiting Tool"

Photo tips:

  • Clear, well-lit image of your face
  • Action shots work well (you training, speaking, building)
  • Avoid: group photos, heavy filters, logos instead of your face

Common Questions

How long until my Deal is reviewed? Most Deals are reviewed within 48-72 hours. You'll get an email when you're approved.

Can investors see my Deal while it's in review? No—your Deal is only visible after approval.

What if I don't have a pitch deck yet? You can submit without one, but Deals with decks perform significantly better. Consider creating a simple one in Google Slides or Notion.

I made a mistake. Can I start over? You can edit any section from your dashboard. If you need to change your path (Athlete → Founder, etc.), contact support.

Tips From Funded Founders

"I spent an hour on my video and it made all the difference. Investors told me they felt like they knew me before we even talked." — Rett

"Be specific about what the money unlocks. 'Growth' means nothing. '$50K gets me to 10K users and a seed round' means everything." — Hannah
